Rose Nimkiins Petoskey is a member of the Grand Traverse Band Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and currently serves as Senior Counselor to the Assistant Secretary ¬— Indian Affairs at the U.S. Department of the Interior. Prior to coming to the Department of the Interior, Rose served as an Associate Attorney in the Native American Law and Policy Practice at Dentons US LLP for six years where she focused on Indian lands, economic development, and environmental matters. She is a graduate of Michigan State University and Cornell Law School. Rose has served as a board member of the Native American Bar Association of Washington, D.C. since 2016 and served as President in 2020.
